As everyone knows, not all dogs suit all people. With pedigree dogs you need to ensure you have chosen the most suitable
breed for yourself and your situation.
Personally, the Beagle is perfect - for me and my family!
Good aspects of Beagles are:
They love people and are happiest within their "pack" (people or dogs!)
They are loving and loveable (how could you resist!?)
Easy to train.
Not fussy eaters.
No need to brush or groom daily.
If they howl, it is a very musical sound - beautifull.
Fantastic with children.
Bad aspects:
They do enjoy digging in the garden.
They will steal (toys or scraps from the garbage).
Can never be trusted to run off-lead - after all, they are hounds, and they are bred to "follow their noses".
Therefore they require a fully fenced section.
To sum-up, there are not many bad points about the Beagle. There is a misconception that Beagles are stupid. I have
only found that Beagles are as clever as their owners. If you spend the time, you are rewarded with an intelligent, obedient
dog - much like any other breed of dog.
To prove that, "Cody" one of the pups from my last litter, has just completed puppy obedience class in the junior
level with 100% obedience. He has now graduated to the next level of obedience, and I am sure he will pass with 100% again.
